Happy Wednesday! I'm here to tell you today why you should or shouldn't wear multiple outfits at your session. I'm a clothes girly, so to me, usually the more clothes the better, but there are a couple reasons why I might say no, and you're about to find them out.

It will really boil down to 3 things; the weather, the type of session, and the photographer. If it's gloomy out, you may want to save your outfits for a better day (it also mightttt be better to reschedule the session altogether). Some outfits won't look as good in the gloom as they would in the pretty sun, so consider the season for your session! Also, consider your colors. If you want to wear mustard yellow and rust orange, you probably don't want to be standing next to pink blooming bush at the Botanical Gardens in April. Same for lavender purple and emerald green in October. Keep the colors with the season!

The type of session will play a big factor too. Senior pictures? Absolutely wear multiple outfits! You only get to be a senior once (or twice!). I would suggest a white or black dress or jumpsuit, and then something that really shows off your style! Guys, I would suggest khaki pants and nice button up, and then something that reflects your hobby, whether it's a letterman jacket, a school uniform, or bringing an instrument with a casual outfit. Couples portraits? These I would probably suggest one outfit (because I knowwww guys get cranky! with taking photos!) unless you can convince him into two! I would suggest a dressy outfit, with a dress and khaki pants. Obviously, engagement pictures are different, so he better wear two outfits! A girl has to have options! One outfit that really shows off your style (that matches), and then a more formal outfit so you can put both on your wedding website, save the dates, Instagram, everywhere you want to post them. For family photos, I would only suggest one. It can be HARD to wrangle up the kids and get them prepped for photos, so you don't want to make it complicated. Plus, matching outfits for all members of the family is hard enough!

I hope this helps anyone who may be questioning how many outfits to wear or even what to wear at your session!

When it comes to photoshoots, one outfit might seem like enough, but there are actually a lot of great reasons to consider wearing multiple outfits during your session. Whether you're doing a couples session, a graduation session, or any other type of photoshoot, here are just a few reasons why you might want to consider changing up your wardrobe.

  1. Variety is the spice of life

Wearing multiple outfits during your photoshoot gives you the chance to showcase different sides of your personality and style. Maybe you want one outfit that's more formal and another that's more casual. Or maybe you want to wear something that's bright and colorful for one look and something that's more subdued for another. By changing up your outfits, you can create a diverse collection of photos that capture all the different aspects of who you are.

  1. Create a visual story

When you wear multiple outfits during your photoshoot, it can help create a visual story. For example, if you're doing a graduation session, you might want to wear one outfit that's more formal and another that's more casual, to represent the different phases of your life. Or, if you're doing a couples session, you might want to wear one outfit that's more playful and another that's more romantic, to showcase the different aspects of your relationship.

  1. Showcase your creativity

Wearing multiple outfits during your photoshoot is also a great way to showcase your creativity. Maybe you want to wear an outfit that's completely unique and out-of-the-box, to really make a statement. Or maybe you want to wear something that you've created yourself, like a DIY dress or a shirt you've embroidered. By wearing multiple outfits, you have the chance to get really creative and showcase your personal style in a unique way.

  1. Variety in your photos

If you're looking to create a diverse collection of photos during your session, wearing multiple outfits is a great way to achieve that. By changing up your wardrobe, you can create a range of different looks and settings, which will make your final gallery much more interesting and varied.

  1. Flexibility

Finally, wearing multiple outfits during your photoshoot gives you flexibility. Maybe you're not sure what you want to wear yet, or maybe you want to see how different outfits look in different settings. By bringing multiple outfits, you give yourself the flexibility to change things up as you go along, and you can even take advantage of different lighting or backgrounds to showcase different outfits.

Whether you're doing a couples session, graduation session, or any other type of photoshoot, wearing multiple outfits is a great way to get creative and showcase all the different sides of your personality and style. So why limit yourself to just one outfit? Bring along a few different options and see how it can help elevate your photos to the next level.

Location also plays a big part in what to wear! You definitely don't want to be taking causal pictures at a church in Birmingham, Alabama or the Jules Collins Museum in Auburn, Alabama.
